Support Workers
Transition House is staffed by women who are trained to be supportive and respond to the needs of abused women in crisis. Women in crisis will be provided information regarding:
Legal remedies
Income assistance
Employment
Housing
Health
Other resources in the community
Staff can also make referrals for individual, marital, and family counselling.
Child Support Program
Our Child Support Program provides support for mothers in their parenting role and can help children develop a sense of safety and comfort during their stay. Our Child Support Worker can make referrals for residents and their children.
HeartMath Program
Women and children who have experienced abuse often suffer from extreme anxiety, depression and panic. Women in Transition is pleased to offer the HeartMath therapeutic program to potentially assist an individual in bringing their physical, mental, and emotional systems into balanced alignment. Through participation in the HeartMath program with one of our trained staff members, women can reduce their stress, build resilience, and work towards harnessing their natural guidance for better decision making.
Liberty Lane
Women in Transition House and Liberty Lane have worked closely together for a number of years to help women and children experiencing family violence.
Liberty Lane Inc. is a charitable organization, offering a Second Stage Housing Program and a Family Violence Prevention Outreach Program. Through these programs, women and their children can gain personal and economic independence. (506-451-2120)
