BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer
The chief financial officer and treasurer oversees all board finances with the assistance of a bookkeeper and outside CPA firm, and is chair of the 3-member finance committee.
qualifications:
Accounting designation or significant accounting experience
Experience with budgeting
Experience in cash flow management
Experience with preparing financial reports
Experience with preparing government financial documents
Experience with leading and managing people
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Managing the internal bookkeeping staff who do the day-to-day accounting functions
Managing money, cash flow, completing required government financial forms on time, budgeting, and budgets (this includes the creation of annual budgets for the next year by month and subsequent 2-year forecast)
Providing all necessary financial information for the AGM report
Submitting monthly financial reports to the executive and board
Preparing next year’s preliminary budgets and forecasts for the December board meeting in consultation with the fundraising committee
