Accepting Volunteers

Women in Transition House is looking to expand our volunteer program! If you are interested in volunteering with our organization there are multiple ways to contribute; folding and organizing clothes in the donation room, doing activities or playing with the children, and assisting with fundraising events are only a few options. For more information please send us a message on Facebook or call 457-2770. Please note, both a criminal record check and social development check are necessary to volunteer at Women in Transition House as we work with the vulnerable sector.

Walk A Mile - September 2018

The annual Walk A Mile In Her Shoes event occurred on September 9th this year. We had beautiful weather and an amazing turn out that included members of our local first responders community! Thank you to everyone who attended the event in support of our organization and raising awareness for domestic violence! We wish to extend a special thank you to Gardiner Realty Royal LePage for once again organizing and hosting a wonderful event!

Please see our Events page for videos and photos :)

Resources for the IPV Intervention Act

All information (including application forms) on the newly implemented Intimate Partner Violence Intervention Act can be found here...

What is an Emergency Intervention Order?

"An Emergency Intervention Order (EIO) is an order made under the Intimate Partner Violence Intervention Act on application of someone experiencing intimate partner violence. These orders may contain a variety of temporary conditions to enhance the safety of victims. They may include, for example, provisions for the applicant to temporarily stay in the family residence (apartment, house, mobile home, etc.) while the partner (respondent) must move out. Emergency Intervention Orders are intended for situations where intimate partner violence has occurred or is likely to occur, and the situation is serious enough to require an immediate response." - PLEIS Pamphlet on EIO
